The development 'centre' and hub for the local economy and everyday lives for those living in the surrounding areas will be within the retrofitting and regeneration of the Millenium Mills building. 

 

Here on the ground floor of the building, workshops and small stores will be spaced with housing /apartments above these creating a live-work space. which will be specifically marketed and sold/rented out to small independents and start-up businesses. Where there is demand these should be for people that are from the Newham area to support the community and local people. 

 

The inspiration for the wide open 'boulevard' style pedestrian-only area that has been planned here has drawn inspiration from the wide open streets similar to those in mainland Europe as well as recent developments and proposals such as the Toronto Google development as pictured to the right.
